Internet Policy
In response
to advances in technology and the changing needs of the community,
the Weyauwega Public Library endeavors to develop collections,
resources and services that meet the informational, recreational,
and educational needs of the Weyauwega community. It is within
this context that the Weyauwega Public Library offers access to
the Internet.
The Weyauwega
Public Library does not monitor and has no control over the information
accessed through the Internet and cannot be held responsible for
its content. The Internet is an unregulated medium. It offers
access to material that is personally, professionally and culturally
enriching to persons of all ages. However, it also enables access
to some material that may be offensive, disturbing and /or illegal.
The Library does not monitor and has no control over the information
accessed through the Internet and cannot be held responsible for
its content. The library assumes no responsibility for the quality,
accuracy or currency of any Internet resource. Internet users
should be aware that not all information found on the Internet
is accurate or current.
All Internet
resources accessible through the library are provided equally
to all library users. Parents or legal guardians, not the library
or its staff, are responsible for the Internet information
selected and/or accessed by their children. Parents- and only
parents or legal guardians - may restrict their children- and
only their children- from access to Internet resources accessible
through the library. Parents are advised to supervise their children's
Internet sessions.
Simply:
The Weyauwega
Public Library does not monitor an individual's use of any sites.
As all Internet workstations are in view of other patrons and
staff, users are not
permitted to display any visual images containing nudity, obscenity,or
graphic
violence.
Not all
sources on the Internet provide accurate, complete, or current
information.
You need to be a good information consumer, questioning the
validity of the information you find.
Staff

For many
library staff, the Internet is also a new experience. Others may
have more experience. In all cases, we will attempt to assist

in-depth training concerning the Internet or computer use, we
will always try to offer suggestions.
